Marshmallow has pure white fur all over her body. She was pretty small
when we first saw her in the pet store. Cute, active and friendly to
everyone, even strangers! On the contrary, she becomes aggressive
when she sees all other hamsters but her kids.
She gave birth to 3 boys and 2 girls in October 2001. However, perhaps
she was too young to be a mother, she started dumping her babies
when they were only 12 days old. Fortunately the babies could eat
solid food on their own before their eyes opened.
Oddly enough, when we moved the boys out from her cage when they
were about a month old, she began taking care of her daughters
again.
Recently, Marshmallow became very sensitive to our voice and maybe our
smell. She would wake up from sleep, and get to the door of her cage when
we are close enough. Even little whispering or noise can trigger her curiousity.
She enjoys running the exercise wheel along with her daughter Rice Ball, and
begging to get out of the cage and play.
